Camargue between land and water in houseboat

Between land and water, the Camargue is a wonderful destination where you can have a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Being on a canal boat is, in that case, the perfect place to be. You can easily reach a beach on foot or on your bicycle to have a break near the Mediterranean Sea or to discover the wild side of the Camargue:

  • It is a marshy land, with a large expanse of natural parklands and a magnificent Wild Bird preserve. There you can observe : pink flamingos, black bulls, wild horses and over 350 different species of wild birds.
  • Be ready for adventure and experience real maritime cruising on the Lake Thau ! Many friendly harbours such as Marseillan, Bouzigues, Mèze or Frontignan are open for delightful visits.

Do not miss the cultural oddities of:

  • Aigues-Mortes, a medieval city whose history is linked to the kings of France. This town is protected by a 1640-meter-long rampart.
  • Béziers, located in Cathare land that you will cross if you cruise towards the Canal du Midi.

The Camargue is sunshine, nature and culture.

Many one-ways are available between the bases in the South, for short stays as well. However, because of hazards which may occur, a one-way cruise and its direction can only be confirmed 48h before departure.

Frontignan bridge: an opening in the morning, one if the afternoon. The travel times indicated for one day are subject to the times of passage of the bridge and of the locks of Fonsérannes.
